What you will learn in a glance?

In the first year, students will acquire fundamental skills necessary for IT professionals. They will develop a basic understanding of computer systems, including computer architecture, operating systems, networking, and databases. Additionally, specialized modules will introduce them to the concepts of security and computer forensics. Throughout this level, students will also focus on personal and organizational skill development, as well as foster creativity and innovation.

Moving into the second year, students will expand their knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of the platforms, tools, and techniques required to design, develop, and implement mobile technology solutions. They will acquire a solid understanding of mobile and wireless technologies, as well as mobile app development. The curriculum will emphasize nurturing creativity, innovation, and independent learning to prepare students for the workplace.

During a 16-week internship or industrial training, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world working environment. This experience aims to facilitate a smooth transition from the classroom to the professional setting, providing students with practical skills and industry insights.

In the third year, students will build upon their previous studies and industrial experience to further their expertise in the field of mobile computing. They will progress into advanced programming skills required for a full range of mobile computing applications, including games, multimedia, and enterprise-level mobile applications. The final year project will be a significant component, where students will investigate and develop a solution for a real-world problem. This project will showcase their ability to combine technical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills, resulting in the creation of a personal achievement portfolio.

Dual Degrees from APU and DMU United Kindom

Students who joined Bachelor (Hons) in Information Technology with a specialism in Mobile Technology at APU University Malaysia will have the option to apply for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will be able to get 2 Degree Certificates & Transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia, and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK. please note this is optional and costs GBP 375 Per year.
